Welcome to hilltop garden centre, the family business with a personal touch. Our family business has been passed down in generation to two brothers who pride themselves on excellent customer service. We offer top quality plants and shrubs, and a wide range of individually chosen products for both indoors and outdoors. Brothers Kevin and Grant are both very hands on people, and it has taken many years of hard work to establish such a successful and individual garden centre.
About Us
At Hilltop Garden Centre, we stock hundreds of shrub varieties and bedding plants. We also offer a wide range of garden furniture and garden accessories from trowels to bird baths, pet care to compost, a great selection of giftware and so much more!
Our cafeteria proudly serves a great range of salads and hot cooked meals, to an extensive range of cakes for those who fancy a delicious sweet treat. Once you’ve had your fill, you can enjoy our very own play area to keep the kids entertained.
Where Did It All Start?
Many years ago, the garden centre at the top of the hill consisted of a small greenhouse which grew a small selection of tomato plants. In 1982 Mr John Ashby brought this small nursery, and he worked many years, with long hours alongside his wife Pat. Together they grew the business and put Hilltop Garden Centre on the map.
At the age of 16 Kevin and Grant, Johns two sons joined the business. Back then the garden centre was a team of about 8 people. When John retired at the age of 55, the brothers took over the business and continued expanding and improving to move with the times.
Where We Are Now
We are now a team of 30 people. All our staff members are friendly, polite and happy to help. We pride ourselves on customer service and satisfaction.
With being a family run business, we have more control and individuality than the more commercial garden centres, which in turn helps us to be more unique with a personal touch.
